09/18/2023 @ 2058, Lost Juvenile, Zion View Camp, Hildale – Man Hours – 52
SAR responded to a 14 year old male that left Zion View Camp and hiked up the
mountain. A 23 year old female went up to find him. Both subjects got stuck up the
mountain in the dark. Several SAR teams deployed up the hill. They located both
subjects and escorted them down. No EMS was needed.
09/24/2023 @ 2221, Stranded Climbers, Is. in the Sky, Snow Canyon – Man Hours – 36
SAR responded to stranded climber on Island in the Sky. A 31 year old male and 32 year
old female were rappelling down when their rope became stuck. The SAR High Angle
climbed up and was able to get their rope untangled. They rappelled them down the to
bottom. No EMS was needed.
09/26/2023 @ 1414, Ill Hiker, Babylon Arch Trail – Man Hours – 2
SAR deputies responded to a 61 year old female suffering from heat exhaustion on the
Babylon Arch Trail. Another hiker was assisting the 61 year old back to the trail head.
The SAR deputy met up with them and got the subject back to her vehicle. She refused
EMS and was released.
10/03/2023 @ 1533, Injured Biker – Snow Canyon – Man Hours – 2
SAR deputies responded to a 31 year old female that crashed on her bike in Snow Canyon
State Park. The deputy and EMS got to the victim. She was brought out to a waiting
ambulance and taken to the hospital for treatment.
10/08/2023 @ 1018, Injured Biker, Bear-Claw Poppy Trail – Man Hours – 24
SAR responded to a 46 year old male that crashed while biking on the Bear-Claw Poppy
Trail. SAR teams located the subject and assessed his injuries. His shoulder was
stabilized and he was driven out by SAR. The male was turned over to Gold Cross
Ambulance for further treatment.
10/14/2023 @ 0227, Traffic Accident, I-15 Arizona MM 21 – Man Hours – 12
SAR responded to accident in the Arizona Gorge. A Semi went off an embankment and
100 feet down a ravine. The 60 year old male driver needed assistance getting out to
medical. SAR arrived and began to set up a rescue raise. EMS had found another route
out and SAR was canceled.
10/14/2023 @ 0800, Water Safety, Gunlock Res, Huntsman Senior Games – Man Hrs. – 30
SAR provided Water Support for the Huntsman Senior Games Triathlon at Gunlock
Reservoir. An 80 year old male was rescued and has hypothermia. SAR EMS treated the
male until an ambulance arrived. He was turned over to the ambulance crew for further
treatment.
