07/27/2023 @ 1134, Injured Mountain Biker, Virgin Area – Man Hours – 28
SAR responded to an injured 27 year old male that crashed on a Mountain Bike. He
stated his leg was broken. Hurricane EMS climbed up to him and treated his injuries.
SAR arrived, climbed the hill and carried him down to the ambulance. He was taken to
SGRH for treatment.
07/28/2023 @ 1546, Injured Climber, Lambs Knoll, Kolob – Man Hours – 36
SAR responded to a 28 year old male that fell 15 feet while climbing on Lambs Knoll.
EMS and SAR located the subject. He was stabilized and carried back to the IC. He was
taken by ambulance to SGRH.
07/29/2023 @ 1419, Missing Swimmer, Sand Hollow State Park – Man Hours – 9
SAR responded to a missing 19 year old male at Sand Hollow. He had gone swimming
and been missing for 3 hours. Utah State Park Rangers were searching and call for the
SAR Dive Team. As the Dive Team arrived on scene. The male was found and was in
good condition.
08/02/2023 @ 0932, Motorcycle Accident – Sand Mountain – Man Hours – 32
SAR responded to a motorcycle versus a UTV accident on Sand Mountain. The 26 year
old male motorcycle rider had possible head and back injuries. IHC Life Flight was
called to the scene. Hurricane EMS stabilized the subject. He was carried to Life Flight
and taken to SGRH for treatment.
08/03/2023 @ 0940, Drowning, Sand Hollow State Park – Man Hours – 56
SAR responded to Sand Hollow Reservoir on a 15 year old male that fell off a paddle
board and disappeared. Utah State Parks, Hurricane Fire/EMS, and the SAR Dive Team
searched for over three hours. The SAR Dive Team located the subject and recovered
him. He was turned over to the Hurricane Detectives and the Medical Examiners Office.
SAR was cleared for the incident.
08/07/2023 @ 1032, Ill Hiker, Tukupetsi Trail – Man Hours – 16
SAR responded to a 71 year old female that became ill while hiking the Tukupetsi Trail.
SAR located her, gave her water, and hiked her back to the trail head. She denied
medical and was driven home by SAR.
08/10/2023 @ 2014, Injured Mountain Biker, Bear-Claw Poppy Trail – Man Hours – 24
SAR responded to a 39 year old female that crashed on a mountain bike. SAR, SGFD,
and Gold Cross responded in. She was located, treated, and brought back to the IC by
SAR. She was taken to SGRH by ambulance.
08/12/2023 @ 1157, Injured Horse Rider, Whipple Trail, Pine Valley – Man Hours – 12
SAR and Pine Valley Fire responded to a 67 year old male that got thrown off a horse.
The male had a possible shoulder injury. The rider was located, stabilized, and carried
out by PV Fire and SAR. He was taken by ambulance to SGRH for treatment.
