12/26/2023 @ 1800, Lost/Stranded Bikers – Toquerville Falls Area – Man Hours – 24
SAR responded to 3 Mountain Bikers lost and stranded south of Toquerville Falls. A 41
year old male and his two sons, 15 and 13, got lost. They were wet from LaVerkin Creek.
The subjects started a fire to keep warm. SAR went in and separated into teams to locate
the subject. They were found near the GPS Coordinates given. SAR gave them warm
clothes and took them back to the Incident Command. No EMS was needed.
12/29/2023 @ 1150, Injured Mountain Biker, Little Creek Mesa – Man Hours – 20
SAR responded to a 62 year old male that crashed on his mountain bike. The male had a
broken wrist and upper leg fracture. SAR and EMS drove in to located the subject. Life
Flight was called due to the possible serious nature of the injuries. Life Flight located the
male and landed. They stabilized the subject, loaded him on the helicopter and flew to St
George Regional Hospital. SAR was called back to the IC.
12/31/2023 @ 2125, Lost Bikers, LaVerkin Twist Trail – Man Hours – 22
SAR responded to three lost bikers on the LaVerkin Twist Trail. The bikers stated they
got turned around and now it was dark. They needed help finding their way back. SAR
teams went in and located them. They led them back to the Incident Command. No EMS
was needed.

01/03/2024 @ 1520, Lost Hiker – Vortex Trail – Man Hours – 12
SAR responded to locate a lost hiker in the Vortex. SAR arrived at the trail head. The
hiker had found their way back and no longer needed assistance. SAR Cleared the scene.
01/12/2023 @ 1349, Jeep Rollover, Sand Mountain – Man Hours – 20
SAR responded to a Jeep rollover on Sand Mountain. There were 20 Jeeps working their
way through the south side of the mountain. The driver had possible back and neck
injuries. Life Flight was called to respond. As SAR units worked their way to the scene,
Life Flight located them and landed. The driver was stabilized and placed in the
helicopter. He was flown to SGRH for treatment. SAR was called back to the IC and
released.
