09/22/2022 @ 1734, Missing Person – Toquerville Falls – Man Hours – 18
Search and Rescue team members responded to a report of a male who had
gone missing after walking back to retrieve his jack from an individual who was
using it to fix their vehicle. The male returned to his vehicle before search
and rescue team members arrived at his location. He declined medical evaluation.
09/23/2022 @ 1910, Missing Person – Virgin River – Man Hours – 28
Search and Rescue Team members responded to SR-9 near the Virgin River
on report of two males who had gone missing after their raft popped while going
down the river. The males were located by SAR team members and returned to their
vehicle. They declined medical evaluation. All SAR members were accounted for
and cleared the scene.
09/24/2022 @ 1210, Injured Hiker – Bone Wash Trail – Man Hours – 20
Search and Rescue team members responded to a female who had a possible
broken ankle on Bone Wash Trail. The female was located and placed in a side by
side. She was then transported to Incident Command and loaded in an ambulance.
All Search and Rescue members were accounted for and cleared the scene.
09/26/2022 @ 1710, Lost Hiker – Red Butte Area, Kolob – Man Hours – 22
Search and Rescue and DPS helicopter Star 7 were deployed to locate a
lost hiker up in the Red Butte area. Star 7 was able to locate the lost party
and taxi them to their groups vehicle and other SAR members. There were no other
issues.
10/04/2022 @ 1031, Injured Hiker – Lower Babylon – Man Hours – 34
SAR responded to a Garmin Spot activation on the Babylon Trail head. A 61 year old
female had fallen and dislocated her knee cap. SAR, Hurricane EMS, and BLM got her
on a Stokes and carried her back to the ambulance. She was taken to SGRH for
treatment.
10/07/2022 @ 1648, Lost Hikers – Oak Grove – Man Hours – 28
Search and Rescue team members responded to Oak Grove on a report of two
stranded hikers. The husband and wife were out of water and unable to find the trail out.
The hikers were located and assisted back to the trail head where they denied medical. All
SAR units were accounted for and cleared the scene.
10/11/2022 @ 1929, Lost Mtn Biker – Gooseberry Mesa – Man Hours – 22
SAR responded to a lost Mountain Biker on Gooseberry Mesa. IC was set up at the trail
head. SAR deployed and located the individual. They transported him to his camp site.
The individual refused medical services when offered.
10/13/2022 @ 1636, UTV Accident – Sand Mountain – Man Hours – 8
Deputies responded to a reported side by side rollover on Sand Mountain. The
44 year old female patient had a severe injury to her finger. I applied pressure to stop the
bleeding. The ambulance arrived and transported the patient to the hospital.
10/13/2022 @ 2258, Lost Hiker – Oak Grove – Man Hours – 26
SAR responded to a lost hiker in the Oak Grove area. The hiker said he had been hours
trying to find his way out. SAR located him and walked him back to the trail head. They
escorted him back to the main roadway. No medical was needed.
