05/26/2024 @ 0755, Para-glider Crash – Blue Springs – Man Hours – 4 A SAR Deputy responded to a Para-Glider crash and Blue Springs. A 29 year old male had just taken off and lost power. He fell approximately 10 to 15 feet. He did have injuries. SAR Deputy assisted him out of the unit and treated him until EMS arrived. He was taken by ambulance to SGRH with lower body injuries.

05/27/2024 @ 1224, Stranded Mountain Bikers, Manganese Rd – Man Hours – 25 SAR responded to stranded Mountain Bikers. The 72 year old female rode out to find help for her husband, a 68 year old male. She stated they were out of water since 0730 and were struggling to get back. He husband was still out there somewhere. SAR deployed and located the male. They gave him water and picked up their bikes. They were brought back to the IC. They refused medical and were released.

05/28/2024 @ 1400, Stranded Motorist, Pinto Area – Man Hours – 18 SAR responded to a stranded motorist near the Pinto area. The 42 year old female and 10 year old male said they were stuck on a cliff and couldn’t go backwards. SAR located them and assisted them off the cliff. The subjects were taken back to the IC and released.

05/30/2024 @ 2330, Stranded Motorist – Toquerville Falls Area – Man Hours – 28 SAR responded to a stranded motorist near the Toquerville Falls. The 34 year old male said his 35 year old wife and 18 month old baby were with him. SAR deployed and located the subjects vehicle in LaVerkin Creek. SAR assisted them out of the creek and escorted them back to the IC. They refused any medical treatment and were released.

05/31/2024 @ 1940, Overdue Hikers – Kolob Canyon – Man Hours – 15 SAR responded to a group of overdue hikers on the LaVerkin Creek in Kolob Canyon. The group consisted of 3 adults and 6 children. As SAR arrived, they located the subjects driving out of the canyon. They stopped them to make sure they didn’t need help. The group said they were good and they left the scene. SAR was released.

06/01/2025 @ 1500, UTV Accident – Sand Mountain – Man Hours – 22 SAR responded to Sand Mountain on a report of a side by side rollover. A 70 year old male and 70 year old female were in the UTV. IC was established at the Water Tanks. SAR personnel responded to the patients location. The patients were loaded in a side by side and taken to the IC. They were evaluated by Hurricane EMS. They were taken by ambulance to SGRH.

06/01/2025 @ 1520, Injured Jumpers – Toquerville Falls – Man Hours – 36 SAR responded to injured jumpers at Toquerville Falls. Three males jumped off the falls. One male had scratches and bruising. A 55 year old male broke his ankle, and a 37 year old male broke both his ankles. The 55 year old was stabilized and taken out to the IC in a Jeep. The 37 year old male was stabilized and flown to SGRH by Life Flight. All SAR were cleared from the scene.

06/04/2025 @ 1300, Stranded Motorist – Pinto Area – Man Hours – 3 SAR Deputy responded to a stranded motorist in the Pinto area. He located the 72 year old male that was stuck. He assisted him back out of the area. No EMS was needed.

06/08/2024 @ 1700, Overdue Hiker – Browse Area – Man Hours – 36 SAR responded to a 54 year old male hiker that was overdue. The subjects wife said she had talked to him around 1500 hours and he seemed out of breath. Deputies, SAR and concerned family members went searching the area. The male was located several hundred yards north of the Ranger Station. Life Saving measures were started. The subject didn’t survive. He was brought out by WCSO Detectives and SAR.

06/15/2024 @ 1750, Injured Climber – Lambs Knoll – Man Hours – 28 SAR responded to a 57 year old female that fell while climbing. She was in a slot canyon and was injured. SAR call for the DPS Helicopter to assist. SAR members got to the subject and stabilized her. DPS hoisted the subject out and turned her over to Life Flight. She was flown to SGRH for treatment..

06/16/2024 @ 1900, Missing Person – Smith Mesa – Man Hours – 32 SAR responded to a missing person incident out of LaVerkin. A 44 year old male had been missing for three days. A family member hired a helicopter to try and locate his vehicle. The vehicle was found on Smith Mesa. SAR responded to the vehicle and began searching. Someone noticed the subject 70 feet off the cliff. A Drone was launch to make contact. Unfortunately the male was deceased. DPS was called to assist in the recovery. SAR assisted WCSO Detectives with the subject.

06/17/2024 @ 2215, Stranded Motorist – Lytle Ranch Road – Man Hours – 7 SAR Deputies responded to a 20 year old male in a stuck vehicle. The male had not had water since 0830. He said he had been drinking from the creek. The SAR Deputies made contact and assisted him out. They escorted him back to the main roadway and released him.
