11/27/2024 @ 1205, Side by Side Rollover, Sand Mountain – Man Hours – 16.5
Search and Rescue (SAR) responded to a side by side Rollover near Top of the World on Sand Mountain. A male suffered a possible spinal injury and was unable to move. Life Flight was requested due to the nature of injury. The patient was located and stabilized by SAR personnel in conjunction with Hurricane Valley Medical units. He was then loaded in the helicopter and transported to the hospital via life flight.
11/30/2024 @ 0920, Stranded Motorist, Lava Point, Kolob – Man Hours – 2
Deputies responded to Lava Point area near Kolob on a report of a male who had gotten his car stuck in the snow. They assisted with calling a tow truck and remained with the male until he was safely out of the snow and back on the road.
12/10/2024 @ 1625, Stranded Motorist, Babylon, Red Cliffs Desert Reserve – Man Hours – 2
Deputies responded to Babylon on a report of a male who was stuck in his car and lost down by the river. They located the male and assisted him with backing up to a safe spot and then guided him back to the pavement.
12/14/2024 @ 1201, Injured Mountain Biker, Bear Claw Poppy Trail, Red Cliffs Desert Reserve – Man Hours – 15
Search and Rescue (SAR) responded to a report of a female wrecking her mountain bike near clavicle hill on the Bear Claw Poppy Trail. The female had reportedly sustained a rib and collar bone injury.
Life Flight was requested due to the nature of her injuries. Life Flight was able to land nearby and treat the patient. Search and Rescue then assisted with loading the patient in the helicopter. She was then transported via Life Flight to the hospital.
12/16/2024 @ 1641, Lost Motorist, Long Valley – Man Hours – 1
Deputies responded to a report of a male who was lost in Long Valley. Deputies located the male with his call GPS coordinates and guided him back to the pavement.
12/21/2024 @ 0806, Injured Hiker, Scout Cave Trail, Snow Canyon – Man Hours – 27.5 Search and Rescue (SAR) responded to a report of a female with a possible broken ankle on Scouts Trail. Search and Rescue responded to the females location. She was then stabilized and carried out to the Incident Command and loaded into a waiting ambulance. She was transported to the hospital via ambulance.
12/21/2024 @ 1525, Injured Dirt Bike Rider, Warner Valley – Man Hours – 1.5
Deputies responded to a report of a motorcycle accident involving a male in Warner Valley. The patient had sustained a suspected finger amputation as a result of the accident. Deputies, in conjunction with Hurricane Valley Medical personnel located the patient. They were then loaded in an ambulance and transported to the hospital.
12/22/2024 @ 1214, Lost Hiker, Elephant Arch Trail, Red Cliffs Desert Reserve – Man Hours – 2
Deputies responded to a report of a male who was lost on the Elephant Arch Trail. Deputies drove to the GPS coordinates and located the individual walking on the road. They provided the individual with water and gave him a ride back to his vehicle.
12/28/2024 @ 1500, Stranded Dirt Biker, Toquerville Twister – Man Hours – 15
Search and Rescue (SAR) responded to a report of male dirt bike rider being exhausted an unable to stand on the Toquerville Twister Trail. SAR, in conjunction with Life Flight responded to the location of the patient. Life Flight made contact with patient and transported him to the hospital without incident.
12/30/2024 @ 1636, Injured Hiker, Red Reef Trail, Red Cliffs Desert Reserve– Man Hours – 22
Search and Rescue (SAR) responded to Red Reef Trail on a report of a female hiker who had fallen approximately 20 feet and sustained suspected spinal and ankle injuries. Incident Command (IC) was established at Red Cliffs Campground. UHP Helicopter STAR9 was requested to assist with the call. SAR members hiked to the location of the patient and evaluated and stabilized her injuries. The patient was hoisted back to IC by STAR9. She was then loaded in an ambulance and transported to the hospital.
12/31/2024 @ 1302, Side by Side Rollover, Sand Mountain – Man Hours – 16.5
Search and Rescue (SAR) responded to Sand Mountain on a report of a male who had been involved in a side by side rollover. The male had suspected injuries to his leg and arm. SAR personnel, in conjunction with Hurricane Valley Medical units arrived at the accident location and stabilized the patient. Due to his injuries, Life Flight was requested and responded to the location of the patient. The patient was then loaded in the helicopter and transported to the hospital via Life Flight.
